history channel documentary 2015 Up until a couple of years prior, Westwood was the spot to go in the event that I needed to treat myself. When I initially moved to L.A, I needed to discover a spot where I can walk around...look at shops, etc...Something, maybe, to help me to remember New York City. L.A. is a sorry strolling town...yet I was told (by Miss Susan P. of Encino) that best places to stroll around were the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, and Westwood Village. I wasn't there in years, yet in the wake of going to Westwood with Ron a week ago, I thought I was expected for an arrival visit...
Situated around 30 minutes from my condo, Westwood lies on the west side of Los Angeles, only east of the San Diego Freeway (405). Home to the regarded college UCLA, Westwood was before a flourishing school town...with extraordinary shops, eateries, record stores and phenomenal film theaters. Stopping was an agony, and expensive...yet it was justified, despite all the trouble. One could've effortlessly have spent the day in Westwood and had an extraordinary time...not any longer.
Some time ago, I'd drive from Hollywood particularly to hang out in Westwood...I'd have a cut or two at La Monica pizza on Gayley...pop in the Baskin Robbins for some frozen yogurt, look at the Circuit City on Gayley, put in a year in the Tower Records on Westwood Boulevard, look at an independent record store or two, and obviously, see a motion picture...
When I initially began hanging out in Westwood...there were no under six Mann Theaters single-screens, one Mann 4-plex, a United Artists 3-plex, a General Cinema 4-plex, and a flawless film possessed and keep running by Pacific Theaters called The Crest. Ten distinctive film theaters...all inside strolling separation. You can see why I would love a spot like this...It was as though Westwood truly was really MOVIE TOWN...
